SENSATIONAL MUSIC PERFORMANCE BY MILITARY BAND

 

A military band is a group of personnel that performs musical duties for military functions. It is well known for its ability to create mesmerizing tunes with patriotic numbers.

On 27th Oct 2017 ARMED CORPS SYMPHONY BAND from ACC and SCHOOL, AHMADNAGAR organized a stupendous show in APS MATHURA . This band group was originated in the year 1948. It comprises of three Junior Commission Officers and 51 Jawans.

The program was conducted by Sub. PARWAT SINGH and the singers were DABEDAR KIRAN THAPA, SUWAR TANGE BHOOTAN and SEPOY HEMANT KUMAR. They sang patriotic songs which awakened the patriotic spirit amongst all (audience). Their performance left everyone stunned and spellbound.

We extend a hearty thanks to the chorus  and salute Indian Army.

VISIT OF ARMY COMMANDER SOUTH WESTERN COMMAND

 

 

It was our proud moment when Lt. Gen. Cherish Mathson, SM, VSM, Army Commander SWC visited the school on 26th October 2017.He was welcomed by the Principal. The students met him with great enthusiasm and he was overwhelmed by their response. In this era of Globalization, he emphasized on cultural exchange at international level using technology like SKYPE. He wanted that the students should be motivated to participate in  International Competitions like Sports, Debates etc. He also stressed on improving API of the school. He visited the school premises including all the labs and library. He concluded his visit with a motivating message for all of us i.e.,” Keep up the quest of excellence.”

INTER-HOUSE MASK- MAKING COMPETITION

An inter-house Mask- Making Competition was organized on 17th Oct 2017 for Primary classes. Mask making is one of the most enjoyable crafts that children can be engaged in. This activity was organized to explore and encourage creativity in children and offer them a platform to show their skill in mask making. Total twelve students participated in the competition, three students from each house were there.

Children participated earnestly in the competition. All the children made different kinds of mask of various material and came up with amazing art work. The Drawing teacher, Mr. S.K. Verma judged the competition and the winners of the same were awarded.

INTER-HOUSE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”

Keeping this view, the school organized an Inter-House Basket Ball tournament on 16th Oct 2017. Students from all the   four houses participated in the competition and exhibited their talent, enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The participants were duly briefed about the rules of the game. It was a tough competition and all the participants put in their efforts to perform their best. To see the boys playing was a sight to behold for our young audience.

The First position was bagged by Arun House followed by  Sarojini Naidu, Rani Laxmi Bai and Hoshiyar securing  Second, Third and Fourth positions respectively. Such competitions enhances over all personality of the students.

MOTIVATIONAL TALK TO STUDENTS TO JOIN N.C.C

On 16th Oct, 2017 COL. RAJESH, 1 UP R&V Sqn NCC Mathura visited the school to address students and motivate them to join NCC. He emphasized the need for maximum number of students to join NCC, an organization which provides the most appropriate platform to contribute towards nation building irrespective of the kind of pursue in future.

He informed that NCC cadets would be given an opportunity to showcase their cultural heritage by taking part in NATIONAL INTEGRATION AWARENESS PROGRAM. He said that NCC training would  empower the students to fight with any kind of violence that they may face in their day to day lives and help them to become a responsible citizen. He had also brought to light a very important aspect that NCC promotes the selection of cadets in ARMY directly through NCC ‘C’ certificate.

Thus, the talk was informative and fruitful for the students.

 

TERI GREEN OLYMPIAD 2017

Green Olympiad is an annual written examination on environment initiated by the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in 1999. The exam is conducted by Environment Education and awareness area of TERI and attracts participation from school children across India and abroad.

We were also privileged to participate in this exam and do our bit for the awareness regarding the environment. This year an hour exam was conducted on 25th Oct. 2017. 271 students of our school divided into three levels viz Classes 4 & 5, 6, 7 & 8 and 9 & 10 with a fees of Rs 75 per head appeared in this exam. Further all the participants will receive ‘Certificate of Participation’, Merit or Distinction depending on their performance. Schools\ Students who excel in this examination will also be felicitated.

DEBATE TEAM CAME UP WITH FLYING COLOURS

In a democracy, debate leads to critical thinking. To ignite this critical thinking, two teams of APS Mathura Cantt. along with two teachers, travelled to Kanpur to participate in South Western Command Inter APS Debate Competition hosted by APS Kanpur. It was a proud moment when our English Debate students brought laurels to the institution by securing the first position in the competition. On the other hand Hindi Debate Team secured 8th position in the Command.

AN EXHILARATING SCHOOL TRIP TO CHANDIGARH, AMRITSAR AND WAGAH BORDER

A group of 50 students accompanied by 6 teachers were on a school trip from 27th sep to 1st oct,2017. Most of the journey was by train. The mind-boggling structures at Rock Garden, panoramic view at Sukhne Lake, Chandigarh and the radiating luminous Golden Temple, Jalianwala Bagh at Amritsar were a sight to behold. The visit to Wagah border filled everybody with feeling of patriotism after watching the parade there. A comfortable stay at luxurious hotels and sumptuous food were like a plum on the pudding. SOUTH WESTERN COMMAND PRINCIPALS’ MEET-2017

1.The South Western Command Principals’ Meet was held at Army Public School Mathura Cantt on 19th and 20th of Sep. The inaugural address was given by Lt. Gen. Saranjeet Singh, YSM, Chairman Board of Administration and Chief of staff, HQ South Western Command. The welcome address was given by Maj. Gen. VD Dogra, Patron, APS Mathura Cantt. Six Chairmen, four Directors and seventeen Principals of various APSs of South Western Command and four Principals of APSs of other Army commands attended the meet.

2.The meet is an annual event of each Army Command. There are seventeen APSs in South Western Command wherein large no. of children of defence personnel, serving and retired attain education from primary to XII classes.The meet focused on improving the academic standards of the APSs with interactive classes and contemporary technologies involving ATAL Tinkering Labs, Digi campus and so on. Issues like school Principal as the team leader and manager, developing school teachers and leaders. The need to revamp curriculum to integrate employability skills and the holistic development of the students were discussed.

3.The event included the presentation of various awards. The academic excellence trophy was baggad by APS Jaipur for class X was received by APS Lal Garh Jattan. The proud winner of the Best APS Trophy for the year 2015-16 was APS Hisar, First Runners Up APS Bikaner and Second Runners Ups was APS Jaipur. The Best teacher of each of the 17 APSs were also awarded the Best Teacher Award for the year

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

A Teacher presents the past, reveals the present and creates the future. Basically a teacher is the architect of our lives. Teacher’s Day is the best way to extend our gratitude to our teachers. Therefore, students of APS Mathura Cantt. celebrated this day with full zeal and enthusiasm.  Some outstanding performances were given by the students followed by a big round of applause. Our Honorable Principal, Mrs. Gayatri Kulshreshtha also threw light on the importance of the role of a teacher. Some teachers also shared their experiences.

Further more the Principal took a lot of pain and organized wonderful party games for all the staff members. The teachers enjoyed themselves a lot. Thereafter token of appreciation was extended to all the staff members and group D employees. The Principal was thanked profusely by the staff. The day full of fun and frolic ended with sumptuous lunch.

FANCY DRESS COMPETITION

Fancy dress is one of the most exciting activity for young ones. They love to dress apart and resemble their favourite animals, cartoon character or fruit. To cherish this notion the school organized Fancy Dress Competition for Primary section on 19th August 2017. Three students from each house participated and presented themselves in the best of their forms. It was a treat to watch those tiny tots as a little green tree, a princess of a castle, a renowned cartoon character etc.

CELEBRATION OF INDEPENDENCE DAY

Independence is a birth right of every individual. To celebrate this right, each and every member of APS Mathura Cantt. family gathered in the school premises on 15th August 2017. The celebration was commenced with flag hoisting followed by some patriotic elocutions and a beautiful dancing visual presented by the young ones. This occasion was graced by the chairman, Brig. S. Ramanathan. He blessed the students with his motivational words. The Principal, Mrs. Gayatri Kulshreshtha also facilitated the students with her valuable and motivational words.The program ended with a tree plantation followed by sweet distribution.

Story Telling Competition

The ability to express someone else’s words in our own way will enable a child to create his/ her own unique identity.

With this aim, our school conducted a story telling competition for the students of IV and V grade. The competition was held on 4th August,2017. It allows freedom of expression and use of imagination.

The participants of all the four houses came well prepared with very interesting stories with a proper moral conveyed. The first position was bagged by Prasun Upadhyaya of class V-C whereas Varsha Singh of class V-C and Chanchal of class V-D secured IInd and IIIrd positions respectively.

At the end of the program, the Judges appreciated the children for their efforts and creativity.
