BOOK FAIR-JAN 2019

Books are uniquely portable magic. Book Fair play a huge role in encouraging reading habit among people of all age groups.

A Book Fair was organized in APS Mathura on 4th Jan,2019.It saw an overwhelming response from students and parents who had come to attend the PTM.It was a spectacle to watch.Books on wide range of topics were displayed. The highlight of the event was the ‘Book Reviews’ made by the students that captivated the maximum readers to the book stall. The aim was to encourage and inculcate the love for reading among students.

ART & CRAFT EXHIBITION

“The artist must be in his work

As  God in creation,

Invisible and all powerful,

One must sense him everywhere.”

Keeping this view, APS Mathura organised an Art & Craft Exhibition on 4th Jan,2019 in the school premises. The objective of the exhibition was to bring forth the innate skills and have the creative genius of the students. All the artifacts on display were the hardwork of the students which were made from indigenous products as jute,paper,beads etc. There were corners in the exhibition attributed to painting, glass painting, fabric,best out of waste.It surely displayed the talent which the children have.It got an overwhelming response both by the children as well as guardians. It was an enriching experience for the students and our art and craft teacher ‘Mrs. Neerja Khaneja’ who had taken pains to make this art and craft exhibition a success.

Clay Modeling

Clay art modeling is a fun art activity that involves the sculpting and molding of modeling clay into a variety of shapes and objects. It develops motor skills, social skills, cognitive skills. Also  helps children to develop imagination and spark creativity.

Mr. Manish highlighted the benefits of clay modeling through lecture cum demo. in JUNIOR WING , APS MATHURA CANTT on 07 Dec. 2018.

Rubella Vaccination Camp

Rubella (German Measles) is a contagious disease caused by a virus, but different virus than measles. People who gets rubella usually have mild illness, with symptoms that can include a low grade fever, sore throat, rashes on the face and spreads to rest of the body. Some people may also have headache, pink eye and generally discomfort before the rash appear. It can cause a miscarriage or serious birth defects in an unborn baby if a woman is infected during pregnancy.

Rubella can be prevented with MMR vaccine. This protects against three diseases: measles, mumps and rubella.

CDC recommends children get two doses of MMR vaccine, starting with the first dose at 12 through 15 months of age.

MMR vaccine is very safe and effective (about 97% at preventing rubella).

Dr. Swati Jadia highlighted the effects of rubella and benefits of MMR vaccine through lecture in JUNIOR WING , APS MATHURA CANTT on Nov16,2018.

Rubella vaccination camp was carried out on 26 Nov, 2018 by Dr. Swati Jadia along with her team. 379 children were vaccinated.

Brig Rajkumar , Commandant , MH Mathura Cantt. also visited Junior Wing during the Vaccination camp.

On Nov29, 2018 Lt Sangeeta M. along with Medical Assistant and complete Medical team vaccinated 457 students.

On Nov29, 2018 Brig Rajkumar , Commandant , MH Mathura Cantt. Again visited Junior Wing during the Vaccination camp.

Total 836 students of Junior Wing were vaccinated. The entire camp was carried out smoothly.

Group Song Competition

“Music binds our soul, hearts and emotions. It is the best method of relaxation, cheers the sprit and lightens the hearts”.

To bring out the singing talent of the students an Inter House Group Song Competition for students of class 1 to 3 was organized in APS Junior Wing, Mathura Cantt  on 26 October 2018. Children sang the songs with lot of passion, confidence and patriotic feeling.

Mask making and Pencil Sketch Competition

Mask  making is one of the most enjoyable crafts that children can be engaged in. This competition was organised in APS Junior Wing, Mathura Cantt.  on 12 October 2018 for class 1 & 2, to explore and encourage creativity in children and offer them a platform to show their skills. A variety of paper and plastic plate masks, head bands, eye masks etc. were made by the children. Also Pencil Sketch Competition was organised for class 3 children.

Best out of Waste

“Creativity consists rearranging what we know in order to find out what we do not know.”

Best out of waste is one such craft which follows environmental friendly principle and at the same time creates useful objects out of waste products. In order to make children aware of uses of waste material, and to give them a lesson on reducing waste to save our future, ‘Best out of Waste’ competition was organized in APS Junior Wing, Mathura Cantt on 06 October 18 for students of class 1 to 3. They prepared very creative and innovative models and art items using reusable and recyclable materials like newspapers, shoe boxes, bangles, ice cream stick’s etc.
