RAISING DAY CELEBRATION -2019

APS Mathura Cantt celebrated raising day with pride and gaiety. Special assembly was conducted by the students of junior as well as senior wing. The day commemorated with the school prayer followed by the school pledge. A talk was delivered by Atharv of class III-A, wherein he threw light on the foundation of the school and its achievements.After that a quiz was conducted in a very interactive way. The students participated with great enthusiasm; they skillfully answered the questions asked. A graceful dance performance was given by the children which left the audience in awe and it was applauded by all. It was followed by the Army School song sung by the choir. The assembly ended with the National Anthem.
After the assembly, a colouring competition was organized for the students of junior wing in which different colouring worksheets covering different themes according to their age group was given to them. The children enjoyed this colouring activity. In senior wing, a calligraphy and cartoon making competition was organised for the students wherein they had shown their creative skills.

“Patriotism is a vital virtue which must be deep rooted in young minds.”

Every year on 26th July, India celebrates Kargil Victory Diwas to respect and show gratitude to the brave Indian soldiers of Indian Army who sacrificed their lives to keep India safe and secure. The day is celebrated against the victory of Indian Armed Forces in Operation Vijay against the infiltrating Pakistani troops.

Kargil Victory Day was celebrated at APS Mathura on 26th July,2019 with patriotic zeal and fervour.  It was a matter of pride for us that Honorable Maj. Gen. U Suresh Kumar, COS APS Mathura Cantt visited the Junior Wing on this special occasion to inspire the students for a patriotic cause. To commemorate this special day, on 26th July, 2019,  students of APS Mathura conducted a special assembly to pay their heartfelt homage to the martyrs of Indian Army, BSF and other troops who sacrificed their lives and won the war of Kargil. On this occasion, Gajraj of XII-Sc  recited a poem to pay tribute to the Indian Armed Forces whereas Kashish of XI Humanities delivered a speech throwing light on the importance of the day. ‘AE Watan’ ,the group song mesmerized  the audience and also a patriotic poem presented by Mr. Dharamdas, PGT (Hindi) had reminded everybody the stories of the  Indian soldiers’ courage and passion.Also a group dance was performed by Senior students on how our soldiers bravely fight in the Wars disregard of freezing temperature and scorching heat. It was followed by the planting of tree saplings  in the school premises. On this memorable day, Class IX students  along with their teachers visited the ‘War Memorial’ in Mathura wherein  Col. Verma briefed them about the place. It offered a remarkable learning experience for the children to know about the bravery and the sacrifice of our great Indian soldiers.

The program ended with the National Anthem and the day was celebrated to instill ‘sense of respect’ among students for our forces that safe guard the country from internal and external  exigencies.They all are our heroes, each and every one of them. Let’s salute those heroes of the Kargil war.

BULLETIN BOARD AND ENGLISH CORNER COMPETITION – 2019

The house-wise ‘Bulletin Board Competition’ was conducted on July 20, 2019 at APS Mathura Cantt (Junior Wing). All the four houses were given different topics to create bulletin boards. The students of all houses received appreciation for the thought provoking display of the ideas. The children showcased team work and a good display of concepts in designing the bulletin boards. The display of all the houses was appreciated by the judges.

On the same day ‘English Corner Competition’ was also conducted to develop students’ interest in English language and acquaint them its beauty.

ENGLISH POEM RECITATION COMPETITION – 2019

Poetry, as they say is the essence of life, the recitation competition solemnized on            July 11, 2019 at APS Mathura Cantt. (Junior Wing).

The children got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. All were rapt when the budding recites’ plunged into soul-stirring poems related to animals, family, objects, friendship, environment, school and various other topics close to our lives. The competition witnessed poised contestants who recited poems from all walks of life. It was a moment of dilemma for the judges to decide upon the winners.

ENGLISH POEM RECITATION COMPETITION-2019

English Poem Recitation Competition was organized on 6th July, 2019 for classes IV and V. Recitation is one of the important and effective modes of learning a language and appreciating a piece of literature. Taking all these facts into consideration the children got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence.The ch ldren came up with different poems and recited them with great zeal and enthusiasm.It was judged by Mrs Seema Arora and Ms. Nimra and the result is as follows:

APS MATHURA STUDENT BRINGS LAURELS IN ACADEMICS

It is a proud moment for our school as Devansh Tomar, the student of our institution has brought laurels by securing excellent result in CBSE-2019. He is the topper of APS Mathura and SWC. Also He is All India Fourth Rank Holder of Class X with 99.2 % (2018-19).On 8th July, 2019, the Principal honored him by giving a ‘Kindle’ as a prize sent by AWES and also an appreciation letter signed by honorable Chief of the Army, General Bipin Rawat,PVSM,UYSM,AVSM,YSM,SM,VSM,ADC. TEACHERS’ IN-SERVICE TRAINING

“A teacher can never truly teach unless he is still learning himself. A lamp can never light another lamp unless it continues to burn its own flame.”

Keeping this view, the following workshops were conducted for the teachers from 24th June to 29th June,2019:

1. WORKSHOP ON ’ MAINTENANCE OF GOOD PHYSICAL HEALTH’ –

It was conducted by the Sports faculty of the school.Following points were discussed in the workshop:

(a) Importance of physical and mental health.

(b)Importance of walking to maintain fitness.

(c)Aerobics and workout –helpful in reducing health risks, strengthening heart.

(d) Meditation and its benefits.

(e)Natural remedies for curing various diseases.

(f) Yoga-helpful in increasing strength and flexibility and reducing stress

2.WORKSHOP ON COMMUNICATION SKILL ENHANCEMENT-

The workshop was conducted by Ms. Shadab Fatma and Mrs. Poonam Arora ,(TGT English). The aim of the workshop was to enable teachers to communicate clearly and with impact, by improving their verbal and non-verbal  communication style, as well as enhancing interpersonal skills..

3.WORKSHOP ON CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT AND EFFECTIVE EVALUATION, LATEST CHANGES IN CURRICULUM-

The workshop was conducted by Dr G.P. Pandey, the Principal, DPS Mathura Refinery.The agenda of the workshop was to enable teachers to focus on proper planning and execution of curriculum development, instructions for a well managed classroom  and developing best teaching practices. He also emphasized on doing students’ evaluation judiciously. Further, the recent changes in the curriculum of classes VI-XII were discussed.

All the workshops were well structured, rich in content and provided fruitful information.
