IMG_20190826_081718_3On 26th August, 2019, Story Telling Competition was conducted for the students of Primary section wherein three participants from each house participated.  Class IV A and VA witnessed the competition and it was adjudged by Mrs Anupma Sharma and Mrs Seema Arora. An Inter House Card making competition was organized on 26th August, 2019 for the classes VI-XII . The theme was ‘Teacher’s Day’. The activity aimed at exploring and encouraging creativity in children and giving them a platform to showcase their skills. The students participated keenly and made beautiful cards.


DSC_0219 - CopyThe students of APS Mathura participated in SOUTH WESTERN COMMAND Inter Army School Hindi and English Debate Competition, held at APS Kanpur on 19th and 20th August,2019 and it’s a matter of pride that APS Mathura emerged winner in Hindi Debate Competition. The school was awarded with the prestigious Trophy  and a cash prize of Rs. 5000. The children showcased their gusto debating with the other efficacious schools with Rahul of XII-Science winning the Best Interjector Award in English Debate Competition.


Quiz competitions are always interesting which creates the excitement among the students and make them aware of current affairs. With this objective, an Inter House Quiz Competition was organized  at APS Mathura on 20th August, 2019. The event was graced by the Principal, Mrs Gayatri Kulshreshtha who welcomed the participants and conveyed her best wishes to them. The quiz was divided into 6 rounds and there were 5 teams with 3 participants in each team. Every round was a mixed bag with questions based on science, vocabulary, current affairs , history.

The students of class X were the enthusiastic audience. It was truly a learning experience for the participants as well as the audience.


It’s not enough to have power, it’s important to know how to best harness it for our collective good.  Keeping this view, an inter house Tug of War competition was held on 17th August, 2019 for the Senior boys i.e. from classes IX to XII wherein the First position was bagged by Hoshiyar House and Rani Laxmi Bai House stood Second. The third and the fourth positions were secured by Sarojini Naidu and Arun House respectively.The competition was particularly exciting as it saw the complete representation of each house in terms of its strength.


15th August is a red letter day in the history of India. On this day, our country become free from the long imprisonment of the British rule. It reminds us the great sacrifice of our freedom fighters who served as a beacon light for the development of this great country. This year, APS Mathura celebrated 73rd Independence Day of the country with great zeal and patriotic fervor wherein the tricolor National flag, a symbol of free India was unfurled and reminded the sacrifices of our great freedom fighters.


DSC_0013Art expression is a unique way of linking imagination and creativity with the shades and tints of life experiences.

To enrich students’ experience in pictorial composition through the handling of new materials and to make them learn the re-use of waste material, an inter house Collage making and Best out of waste competitions were organized in the school on 3rd August, 2019. There were  4 participants from each House and the theme of the Collage- making competition for the classes VI to VIII was  ‘Healthy Lifestyle’ and for IX –XII, it was ‘Virtual World’.

Students’ divergent thinking was challenged when they were presented with an array of that material and had to decide what and how to use the material to express themselves. All the students participated enthusiastically with competitive spirit.


In order to make children aware of the uses of waste materials, and to give them a lesson on reducing waste to save our future, a ‘BEST OUT OF WASTE’ competition was organized at APS Mathura (Junior Wing) on Aug 03, 2019. Children made items from different waste materials. They used usable and recyclable materials like newspapers, shoe boxes, bangles, ice cream sticks and much more. They made useful everyday objects out of these waste materials. It was amazing to see how scrap could be transformed into such useful and beautiful articles. The judges were astonished to see the creativity and artistic streak of the children.

APS Mathura believes that every child who comes to this ‘temple of learning’ must grow into a person of knowledge and wisdom. Delegation of responsibility and giving authority to children is an important part of education as it teaches them life-long skills.

Investiture Ceremony is one of the most significant event of our school. APS Mathura (Junior Wing) observed the investiture ceremony for the academic session 2019-20 on 31st July 2019. The ceremony began with the pinning of the badges to the newly elected class representatives which was done by the Primary Co-ordinator. The elected class prefects administered the oath with a promise that they would carry out their duties with integrity, faith and excellence. The teachers congratulated the students. The event ended successfully.

GROUP COUNSELLING BY Mrs. Sangeeta Rathore

A group Counselling Session was conducted for the students of class VIII on 30th July, 2019  at APS Mathura. It was conducted by Mrs. Sangeeta Rathore, the Counseller, APS Mathura. The session dealt with the physical, psychological and emotional aspects of an individual, stressing the importance of a harmonious balance of all these aspects for a well –developed personality . It focused on relevant issues such as stress management, time management, examination preparation and efficiently dealing with peer- group pressure. The session ended on a note of personal empowerment.

APS Mathura is trying to develop the responsible human beings with leadership qualities. The school bestows upon its students the ability to be future leaders of the world.

Keeping up this thought,APS Mathura observed the Investiture Ceremony for the session 2019-20 on 31st July, 2019 wherein the cabinet was formed through votes cast by the students and teachers on 11th July, 2019.It was solemn occasion where young students were all prepared to flourish and discharge the responsibility of leadership entrusted upon them by the school. The Ceremony began with the pinning of the badges and handing over the sashes and the school / House flags to the newly elected members which was done by the principal, Mrs. Gayatri Kulshreshtha. Anjali and Gajraj of XII- SC.  were honored by Ma’am as the Head Girl and Head Boy respectively. They were conferred with badges and sashes by Ma’am. Afterthat,  the other elected leaders and the Class Prefects were given the badges by their respective incharges and the class teachers. Further the elected members administered the oath with a promise that they would carry out their duties with integrity, faith and excellence.

The ceremony was held with lots of zeal and passion. The Principal congratulated and admonished the students’ council to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. She also exhorted them to uphold the values.The event ended on a note of positivity and willingness.
