The staff of APS Mathura organized Farewell Party on 2nd January,2020 to honor the  Principal, Mrs. Gaytri  Kulshreshtha. The function began with a Welcome Address followed by nostalgic memories. When it comes to her achievements, she had envisioned great things for the school.What makes Ma’am so special is that she is a pioneer of many things- launching programs and events which everyone would be skeptical about initially and never thought possible. The event was full of intense moments when saying goodbye brought tears to the eyes of all. Ma’am thanked all for always supporting her. she mentioned how working here was an enriching experience for her and how she was taking away with her all the cherished memories of this school. With heavy hearts, APS Mathura fraternity bade farewell to Respected Principal, Mrs Gaytri Kulshreshtha.

The event ended by presenting a small token of remembrance to  Ma’am  on behalf of  APS Mathura family.


APS Mathura celebrated its Annual Day on 21st Dec, 2019 with great zeal at Tarapore Hall, Mathura Cantt. Lt. Gen. A.S, Bhinder, VSM, GOC, 1 Corps, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The programme commenced with the lighting of lamp followed by the annual report which highlighted the laudable achievements of the students and the awards won by the institution for its exemplary performance in various spheres.

The cultural program presented by the students mesmerized the audience with its enchanting music, scintillating dance, captivating drama and the vibrant finale.It was followed by the prize distribution ceremony wherein the academic toppers and the winners of Co-curricular areas were felicitated.The chief guest expressed his happiness over the achievements of the school.

The program ended with a vote of thanks given to the dignitaries for sparing their valuable time and gracing the occasion.


Vijay Diwas is celebrated on December 16th every year to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in 1971.Indian Army brought Pakistani soldiers to their knees.Another fact is that Bangladesh was born on this day.

Viijay Diwas was celebrated at Army Public School, Mathura Cantt on 16th December, 2019 with full zeal. A special assembly was conducted by the students and rich tributes were paid to the martyrs who laid down their lives during the war of 1971.

An Inter-House Poster making competition was also conducted on the theme ‘Vijay Diwas’ wherein total 32 participants, 8 from each house participated. The students displayed their skills and creativity by participating enthusiastically.


According to APJ Abdul Kalam, “Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber and future of an individual.”

Any profession is rewarding if the achievements are recognized because being an educator is perhaps the most responsible role one has to take. In order to felicitate the contribution of teachers AWES conferred the Best Teacher award to the teachers who through their vision and commitment enriched the lives of children. It is yet another proud moment for APS Mathura that two teachers of our school , Mrs Upma Bhargava , TGT (English) and Mrs Rita Bhatia, PGT (Biology) received the best teacher award this year.


The NCC mainly aims to develop the character and personality of the youth and transform them into responsible citizens. NCC Day is celebrated every year on the fourth Sunday in the month of November.

Keeping this in view, APS Mathura observed NCC day on 22nd November,2019 wherein a lot of activities were carried out by NCC students to stress the significance of NCC as an organization in empowering the youth of our country. On this day, all the NCC students took part in demonstrating the benevolence of the great men (who struggle day and night for the well being of the country  ) by various performances. Beautiful dances, skit and songs were dedicated to them. It was followed by a quiz and an informative and inspirational speech which enlightened the minds of NCC cadets about the significance of the service organization and its moto-unity and discipline.

Overall the entire event had received an appreciation and the NCC unit of the school has been able to highlight the relevance and significance of NCC  in shaping the lives of the young generation.


APS Mathura Cantt organized Inter School English Debate Competition on 16th November,2019 at Tarapore Hall. The event was graced with the presence of Mrs. Gayatri Kulshreshtha, the Principal, APS Mathura who welcomed the participants and conveyed her best wishes for the competition. The event witnessed the participation of 6 schools and the students of class X were the enthusiastic audience. The aim of the competition was to hone public speaking skills of the students and teach them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions. The topic for the day was ‘Space missions are a wastage of resources for a resource starved nation like India.’ The competition was adjudged by three judges. The teams were well prepared and undoubtedly convinced the audience of their beliefs and views. The participants, armed with statistics and data made arguments more emphatic with their righteous facial expressions and voice modulation. They exhibited great oratory skill. The judges were highly pleased with their logical presentation. In the end, the Respected judges were honored with momentous and the winners were felicitated by the Principal. Also certificates were presented to all participants.  The winner of the Debate was St. Dominic’s School Mathura whereas the Runner-Up team was APS Mathura Cantt.  The competition was an enthralling experience for the speakers as well as the audience.



“There is no garden as beautiful as childhood.”  With this thought  Children’s Day was celebrated  in APS Mathura Cantt  with zeal and enthusiasm. It began with a special assembly presented by class XI B and was followed by an Inter House Dance competition. The vivacious dancers set the floor on fire with their energetic performance. The fun filled extravaganza offered classical, folk and western. The choreography, rhythm, synchronization and presentation of all the students were good. The happiness of the children was amply evident with applause and appreciation.

The judges congratulated the winners and appreciated the performance of the children and also encouraged them to participate more in such competitions to enhance their talents. The program

ended with the distribution of chocolates to the students.

Report on National Unity Day & Vigilance Awareness

The National Day of Unity also known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated to commemorate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birthday, who truly unified the country. The day was introduced by the government of India in 2014 to be celebrated every year on 31st Oct. To pay tribute to the iron man of India, APS Mathura also celebrated the solemn occasion during morning assembly on 1st Nov 2019.

Deepak Chaudhary from XII Hum. delivered a short speech elaborating on the contribution of Late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in maintaining the integral strength of the nation. Thereafter all the students and the staff members took a pledge to dedicate themselves to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation and also strive hard to spread this message among all the countrymen.

The week in which the birthday of Late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, which is on 31st Oct, falls is also observed as Vigilance Awareness Week. Hence Vigilance Awareness was spread among the students by conducting a Quiz on 2nd Nov 2019 wherein students from Classes IX to XII participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The aim of this awareness is to motivate and sensitize everyone to remain vigilant, honest and transparent in their work and attitude so that a corruption free society is formulated.


The Annual Adm and Technical Inspection of the school was held in APS Mathura on 21st and 22nd October,2019.It was carried out by the team consisted of Brig. Ashish Bharadwaj,cdr 16 Arty Bde/ Chairman,APS Faridkot, Col SS Dalal, Addl Dir For School, HQ 10Corps, Col Raj Bhupinder Singh, Edn Offr, HQ 16 Arty Bde, Mrs Mandeep Kaur Saini, Principal, APS Faridkot.The team was formally welcomed by the Principal,APS Mathura.The team visited both, the Junior and Senior wings.They visited the school premises including all the labs and Library and appreciated the efforts of the school management.The inspection ended with the interaction of the staff with the Presiding Officer wherein he gave some valuable suggestions for the upliftment of the students. 


Army Public School, Mathura Cantt hosted the South Western Command Quiz competition-2019. It was held on 27th September, 2019 wherein  6 teams participated in the Final Round i.e. APS Mathura, APS Bathinda, APS Kanpur, APS Jaipur, APS Alwar and APS. Ranchi

Brig. H.S. Pilkhwal, the Chairman, APS Mathura Cantt graced the occasion. The Quiz competition was conducted by the renowned Quiz  master Aditya Nath Mubayi who is among India’s top quizzers and has represented India at the World Master Quiz of International Quizzing Association. The Quiz comprised of 6 Rounds namely Multiple Choice Question Round, Visual Round, Mixed Faces Round, Audio Round, Earth Round and Rapid Fire Round. Each school had three participants who were competing for the coveted trophy.It is a proud moment for us that APS Mathura won the competition and the Runner Up team was APS Bathinda. The Chief Guest  felicitated the winners and given a token of appreciation  to the Quiz Master. The program concluded with the motivational words of the Chairman wherein Sir congratulated and exhorted the participants to strive for excellence.


Kavita Vaachhan Activity was organized for students of classes I, II & III at APS Mathura (Junior Wing) where students recited their favourite poems. They used props according to the poems they had memorized and created an enthralling environment, making everyone mesmerized and awe-struck with their performances. Overall, they put up a good show which was appreciated by one and all.


To promote the culture of reading skills at all stages, Reading week was celebrated at APS Mathura from 9th to 15th September,2019  to mark the occasion of International Literacy Day. A plethora of activities were organized for the students like they developed class reading corners and were made aware about the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi. They enthusiastically created artistic story maps depicting the stories in an innovative manner. The students gave crowning touch to the week long celebration by giving their exemplary and deep rooted views in the form of Book Review about the books they had read in the recent past. All the activities created a literary atmosphere in the school and the students realized their passion for reading.

आर्मी पब्लिक स्कूल मथुरा छावनी में हिन्दी सप्ताह के अंतर्गत दिनाँक 9 सितंबर को काव्य-पाठ में प्राथमिक वर्ग तथा आशुभाषण प्रतियोगिता में माध्यमिक एवं उच्च माध्यमिक वर्ग के विद्यार्थियों ने अपनी प्रतिभा का प्रदर्शन किया | इसी क्रम में दिनाँक 11 सितंबर को निबंध लेखन मे माध्यमिक व उच्च माध्यमिक वर्ग तथा वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता में उच्च माध्यमिक वर्ग के छात्र/छात्राओं ने उत्साहपूर्वक प्रतिभाग किया |आशुभाषण प्रतियोगिता में रानी लक्ष्मीबाई और होशियार सदन के देवांश ,साक्षी – प्रथम तथा वैभव व अनामिका तृतीय स्थान पर रहे |

सरोजिनी नायडू सदन से पृथ्वी ने द्वितीय स्थान प्राप्त किया |प्रधानाचार्या ने सभी प्रतिभागियों एवं विजेताओं को बधाई देते हुए उनका उत्साहवर्धन किया |


On 9th September, 2019, the Inter House Recitation competition was conducted for the students of classes IV and V wherein total 16 students participated in i.e. four from each House.
