WORKSHOP ON THE ART OF STORY-TELLING

“Story telling offers the opportunity to talk with your audience, not at them.” Stories are engaging. They have the ability to keep an audience hooked, listening intently to your every word. Even NEP 2022 has recognized this lost way of story- telling as a pedagogy of learning.

In the pursuit of happiness, story-telling plays an important part. To maintain that flow, a workshop on ‘Art of Story-telling’ was organized at APS Mathura on 9TH Dec. 2022.It was our proud  privilege to have Ms. Jyoti Pande, an ardent educationist and psychologist for over 25 years, as the resource person.

The session started with an ice breaking song, ‘Ek pyar ka nagma hai’. Thereafter, ma’am started conversing with the teachers. She asked them about their expectations from the students and shared her thoughts about students’ expectations. The participants were also enlightened about the importance of story-telling. She also shared her views on ‘how to make joyous classrooms’ by connecting it to the students. The five elements of a story-idea, settings, characters, conflicts and resolution were elaborated by her. The audience was also enlightened about impressive parts  of story-telling –hooking the audience, connecting, identifying and making necessary changes.  Different stories were developed with the help of participants then and there only.

The session was attended by the teachers from APS Family. The session proved that storytelling not only enhances imagination , concentration  but also improves vocabulary and communication skills.”The stories have a therapeutic effect on our minds and can be used for making our lives easier and better” was the take away from the session.

OPEN INTERNATIONAL TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIP

Taekwondo word is a korean word and is composed of three parts “Tae” means “foot,” “leg,” or “to step on”; “Kwon” means “fist,” or “fight”; and “Do” means the “way” or “discipline.” Thus, Taekwondo means “the right way of using all parts of the body to stop fights and help to build a better and more peaceful world.”
