INTERNATIONAL LETTER WRITING COMPETITION

The letter writing enhances the communication skills and can be extremely therapeutic. The motion of putting pen on paper provides clarity and peace.

The International Letter Writing Competition, organized by International Postal Union, held at APS MATHURA Cantt.  on 23rd  March 2023. The theme of the 52nd International Letter Writing Competition was ‘fantasizing oneself  a  super hero and to make all roads  safer for children’. It  encouraged young writers aged 9-15 (Classes I to VIII) to write letters on the given theme to win exciting prizes. 

The competition was coordinated by Ms Avantika Singh  and 31 children from class VI -VIII  participated in the competition .Lt Col Vikram from 1 corps was the presiding officer. The Principal and Vice Principal encouraged and motivated the students. The competition made the students aware of the role that postal services play in the society.

CONFERENCE ON ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

 “Do not train students to learn by force; but direct them to it, by what amuses their minds, so that you may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each.”-Pluto.

 In today’s scenario, the focus isn’t on delivering education but on learning outcomes.  After all, “accumulating knowledge matters a lot less.” To understand the importance of  integration of cognitive and socio-emotional skills into education, a conference was organized on 15th March 2023, in the Conference Room of the school. The Resource Person was Dr. Surendra  Dass from Eduvrata.

Dr. Dass is an educationist with an innovative bent of mind, an administrator with high execution quotient, a trainer with a difference, wellness advisor, and life coach, author, and poet. He has  been in the field of education for more than 40 years. He has worked  as a Director –Quality Assurance in Superhouse Education Foundation for 3 years. At present, Sir is  looking after his Education Consultancy Firm[Eduvrata] as Director and providing consultancy to schools for 360 degree School Improvement in order to make the School Heads as the Education Leaders and trend setters in conformity with International Benchmark of Quality Education and NEP -2020.

Dr. Dass was formally welcomed by the CCA Incharge , Ms. Upma Bhargava.

Thereafter, the Resource Person started his session. He gave a detailed description of  Effective School Framework. He threw light on School Culture after Infrastructure as all the schools maintain their infrastructure as per CBSE norms. He categorized different cultures of different schools into Positive, Negative and Neutral. He correlated outcomes to Positive  School Culture.  Negative elements were hold responsible for  blocking  the outcomes by him. He considered the .  Neutral way – the standard procedure. Digitalization in every aspect, at school is a necessity, he added. Importance  of Standard operating system was emphasized. After that , School Leadership and its types were discussed, which were Authoritarian, Democratic, Distributed and Transformational Leadership.

While talking about School Domain, the Resource Person informed that there is no change in the Framework since 2005 and a change is expected in 2023. He knew that Curriculum Mapping need different steps to be followed, In the process of Learning Objective and Learning Outcomes, a gap remains and rarely bridged at any school, he said.There after, Instructional  Design , Learning Structure, Objective, Material, Activities and Assessment were discussed. Out of all , Learning Experience and Evaluation were considered  most important by him.

Dr. Dass elaborated on the importance of Holistic Education  as every student’s talent should be nurtured. The audience was enlightened about Individual Education Programme  as it includes complete profile of  the student. School’s Social Responsibility and Active participation  of positive and constructive parents was considered as the need of the hour.

While talking about CSR  and School, the Resource Person laid emphasis on Climate Building Committee. Satisfaction of beneficiaries to be taken care of, he added. He spotlighted  360feedback which must include parents, students, administration and even from group’D’ staff. Satisfaction of  the stakeholders should be the motto, he vocalized.

After the session , the Resource Person satisfied the queries of the participants. The Vote of Thanks was given by the Vice Principal. The Chairman, Brig. PS Sidhu,VSM, DCSO, Col. Vikas Gautam, the Principal, Ms Anju Malhotra and the staff attended the session. The session ended with a note ‘Excellence is always the result of high intention, serious effort and intelligent execution. It represents wise choice of many alternatives – choice determines your destiny”.

VISIT OF OUR PATRON

APS Mathura family felt privileged and honoured by the benign presence of  Maj. Gen.Chander Sheikhar, our  Patron on 3rd March 2023. Sir was formally welcomed by the Chairman, Brig.PS Sidhu, VSM, the Principal, Ms. Anju Malhotra, the Vice Principal and NCC cadets. Our Chairman, Brig. PS Sidhu, VSM, briefed sir about  the current infrastructure and the working of the school through a presentation.

Sir visited the Param IT Lab, the Library, Physics and Chemistry labs and Model staffroom. Sir also interacted with HODs and other senior teachers.  In his words of wisdom, he encouraged the teachers to keep on doing the good work and taking the school to the higher levels. Incentives should be based on the result, he further added. The HODs were asked to groom the new teachers as they are new to the system. His visit left an everlasting impression on the teachers, who are now more willing than ever to contribute to the school.

VISITING THE  FUTURE SCHOOL

A child’s transition to primary from kindergarten is a huge shift. At primary, a lot of emphasis is given to develop the social skills of the children.

To develop confidence and skills, the students of APPS Mathura visited APS Mathura on 15th February2023 with their Principal and teachers. The guests were welcomed by the Principal, Ms. Anju Malhotra, the Vice Principal and Primary teachers. The tiny tots were welcomed by  a beautiful welcome song and  a lively dance. Thereafter, the  guest students visited class 1, assembly area, playground and tuck shop of the school. Furthermore, a fruitful interaction between the guests and the host took place. The visit ended with refreshment and with a promise of meeting again.

The students left excited with the thought of being able to study in the same school one day and uphold the legacy they’d be given.

CBSE National Athletics Meet – 2022 – 23

CBSE organizes sports events at Cluster/Zonal and National levels for its independent category of schools every year in various age-groups .

CBSE Cluster Tournament was organized in the month of December 2022-23. In 400 mtr race, Abhishek Singh of XII std.won the Gold medal and qualified for the National event. The National event was organized on 1st and 2nd February 2023 in Sant  Atulanand Convent School, Varanasi. All the  24 clusters including gulf countries  participated in the event. The Grand National Athletic Meet witnessed the zealous participation of young athletes from CBSE schools across the country.  Abhishek  Singh from Army Public School, Mathura Cantt  won the bronze medal  in 400 mtr race.

The medal filled the participants with exuberance and confidence. Eventually the participants left the place with an intention of winning over and over again

ANNUAL ADMN. AND TECHNICAL INSPECTION(2022-23)

On 1st and 2nd Feburary, 2022, the Annual Adm. and Technical Inspection of APS Mathura for the year 2022-23 was carried out by Brig SK Malhotra, Cdr 99 Arty Bde; Lt Col. Pankaj Dhama, SO-1 (Edn), HQ 99 Arty Bde and Mr. Suneel Kumar , Principal , Kendriya Vidyalaya Mathura Cantt. The team was formally welcomed by the Principal. The team witnessed the morning assembly which commenced with school prayer followed by the pledge, thought, quiz, speech and motivational song. Thereafter, the Principal elaborated upon the campus and its achievements through a presentation. Later on, the team visited the school campus including all labs and library. The inspecting team appreciated the endeavor of the school administration for shaping the school so beautifully. The Inspection came to an end with the interaction of the HODs with the Presiding Officer and the inspecting team.

The entire inspection was a reflection of the hardwork of students, teachers ,administration and consisted of everyone putting forth their efforts.
