NORTHERN COMMAND CLUSTER-B BADMINTON TOURNAMENT

APS Mathura participated in the Northern Command Cluster-B Badminton Tournament hosted by  APS Raiwala on the 18th and 19th of October 2023. Other teams were  APS Kanpur, and APS Almora participated in the event. The tournament’s venue was the local sports complex, and it served as the perfect backdrop for an exhilarating showcase of badminton skills and unwavering sportsmanship.

The participants from all four schools exhibited exceptional agility and precision throughout the event, engaging in high-speed rallies and executing strategic shots . Team APS Mathura emerged as the champions in all categories, including the Mixed Doubles, Boys’ and Girls’ Team Games, and Individual Events. The tournament  also recognized outstanding individual performances. Bhanu, representing APS Mathura, was honoured with the Boys’ Best Player Trophy, while Sneha, also from APS Mathura, secured the Girls’ Best Player Trophy. These awards celebrated the exceptional talent and dedication displayed by these young athletes throughout the tournament.

It was a thrilling event that demonstrated the players’ passion for the sport and their commitment to showcasing their abilities. The success of Team APS Mathura, combined with the recognition of individual excellence, made the tournament a memorable and inspiring experience for all participants and fans in attendance.

NORTHERN COMMAND CLUSTER-B TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT

APS Mathura participated in the Northern Command Cluster-B Table Tennis Tournament hosted by APS Raiwala from 18th to 20th October 2023. In addition to APS Mathura, participants from Raiwala, Kanpur, Old Prayagraj, and Almora also took part in the event, which brought the  players together  for an exciting display of talent and enthusiasm.

All the participants displayed  remarkable agility and precision and delivered  strategic shots. Team APS Mathura  showcased  excellent skill  and clever court coverage. The participants showed their sportsmanship , determination and precision. As a result, Aarav Anand won the Gold Medal in Boys’ Singles Match while In Girls’ Team Game APS Mathura was the Runner Up and received the Silver Medal.

The success in the tournament reflects the dedication and hard work of both the players and their coaches.

PARENTS’ ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

‘Parenting is an extraordinary journey filled with challenges that serve as the building blocks of resilience, wisdom, and love.’ In today’s world, children face a multitude of pressures, including academic expectations from parents, peer pressure, and social influences.

To raise awareness about these challenges and provide parents with the necessary support to guide their children effectively, a Parent Orientation Session was conducted on October 17-18. This session targeted parents of students in grades VIII-XIII, taking place from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. in the Conference Hall.

The event was facilitated by the school’s Principal, Ms. Anju Malhotra, and the School Counsellor, Ms. Aastha Singh. It empowered parents with the knowledge and strategies required to assist their children in navigating these pressures effectively. The session highlighted the significance of recognizing and addressing academic expectations, peer pressure, and societal influences.

This session marked a substantial stride towards establishing a robust support system in which the challenges faced by children can be transformed into opportunities for resilience, wisdom, and love.

NORTHERN COMMAND CLUSTER-B VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

Volleyball is a popular team sport that has captured the hearts of millions worldwide. It is known for its fast-paced action, agility, and emphasis on teamwork.

With the aim to develop and enhance various skills such as serving, passing, setting, spiking and blocking, APS Mathura participated in the Northern Command Cluster-B Volleyball Tournament  held at APS Kanpur from October 15 -17, 2023. Teams from APS Mathura, Kanpur, Prayagraj, and Almora came together to participate in this exciting event. All the teams put forth their commendable efforts. As a result, APS Mathura and APS Kanpur in the boys’ category  and APS Mathura and APS Almora  in the girls’ category reached the finals.


The finals witnessed commendable efforts from both the teams. Ultimately, APS Mathura emerged victorious in both the categories, showcasing their skills and teamwork. Their success is a proof of school’s commitment to sports and dedication of the teams and their coaches.

ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION

‘Cleanliness is not just a virtue, but a powerful shield against disease.’ Cleanliness is not just a matter of appearance but a fundamental aspect of health, safety, well-being, and environmental responsibility. It has far-reaching impacts on both individual and community levels, making it a vital aspect of daily life.

To intill lifelong habits that contribute to good health and hygiene among the students, an Intra- Class Essay Writing Competition was organized  on 12th October 2023 for  the students of classes VI-VIII. The theme of the competition was ‘ Cleanliness Forbids Diseases’.

The participating students displayed their creativity and understanding, emphasizing how cleanliness plays a pivotal role in disease prevention.The essays produced by our young writers reminded  us of the timeless wisdom “cleanliness is next to godliness. Their insightful essays highlight the importance of cleanliness and its far-reaching impact on individual well-being and the community at large.

.The Essay Writing Competition has served as a significant step toward our shared goal of a cleaner, healthier, and more disease-free future. We are proud of our students’ dedication and their ability to articulate such an essential message, and we look forward to witnessing the positive impact they will make as they continue to champion the cause of cleanliness and good health.

POSTAL WEEK CELEBRATION

On Indian Postal Day, celebrated on the 10th of October each year, India Post takes center stage in recognizing the invaluable service it provides to the nation. This day marks an extended celebration of World Post Day, which is observed on the 9th of October, as designated by the Universal Postal Union.

As part of the National Postal Week celebrations, a Painting Competition was organized on the 11th of October,  for students in classes I to V. The primary aim of this competition was to honor and acknowledge the pivotal role of the National Postal Service in our daily lives. Through creative expressions in the form of art, students showcased their appreciation for the postal service’s enduring significance. The students exhibited great enthusiasm and exuberance while participating in the competition, reflecting the importance of instilling an understanding and gratitude for the services provided by India Post. This event not only celebrated the past achievements but also underscored the continued relevance of postal services in the modern age. It served as a reminder of the power of communication, connection, and the role that India Post continues to play in the lives of millions of Indians.

NORTHERN COMMAND  CLUSTER-B T-20 TOURNAMENT

Cricket in India is not merely a sport; it’s a way of life, a unifying force in a nation that’s both diverse and culturally rich. The roots of cricket in India can be traced back to the colonial era, and over time, it has evolved into one of the most beloved and ardently followed sports in the country.

With the intention of upholding the spirit of sportsmanship and fostering a competitive atmosphere, APS Mathura proudly hosted the Northern Command Inter Aps Cluster-B Cricket Tournament on the 10th and 11th of October 2023. Teams from APS Mathura, Kanpur, Raiwala, and Almora came together to participate in this exciting event.

In the thrilling final, Team APS Mathura’s solid batting lineup and excellent bowling led them to victory, making them the champions of the tournament. Overall, the tournament was a  success as it not only showcased the competitive  spirit of cricket but also promoted the skills and excellence of the sport.

NATIONAL HINDI DEBATE COMPETITION 2023

Hindi debate is a means to express our thoughts clearly and persuasively. It  promotes the use of the Hindi language and help participants improve their proficiency in Hindi, encouraging  the correct usage of vocabulary, grammar, and syntax.

After winning the Northern Command Inter APS Hindi Debate Competition, APS Mathura participated in the National Hindi Debate Competition held at APS Noida on 10th October 2023. The topic of the debate was, ‘Rashtriy Shiksha Niti-2020 academic aur gair-academic  vishayon ki samanta per Jor dalti hai. Iss paripeksh mein  desh  mein  badhati  berojgari  vastvikata  hai Ya kaushal ki kami’. Nidhi and Aadrika of class XII, along with Samit of class X, participated in the event. The event showcased the eloquence, critical thinking and persuasive skills of all the participants. Sankit of class X was adjudged ‘the Best Interjector’.

However, APS Mathura’s debaters  captivated both judges and the audience through their impressive analytical skills, leaving a lasting impact with their eloquent words. The Interjector’s cross-questioning added an extra layer of depth to the discussion . As a result, among  the various participating schools, APS Mathura secured a well-deserved 2nd position in the competition.

Success in this event wouldn’t have been possible without  the continuous mentoring of the teachers. They consistently prove  that ’It is true that every effort is not converted into success but it is equally true that success doesn’t come without effort.’

Painting Competition

A painting Competition is a symphony of colours where artists harmonize their visions on the canvas of creativity. It’s a multifaceted art form with profound importance in terms of self-expression, communication,  and cultural preservation. It enriches our lives and stimulates our imagination.

With the aim of nurturing creativity and raising awareness, a Painting Competition was organized from classes I to VIII on October 6th, 2023. The theme of the competition was ‘Commitment Towards Cleanliness’. The students showcased their talent, styles and interpretation reflecting rich tapestry of emotions. They expressed their dedication to cleanliness through colorful and imaginative artworks, promoting a cleaner and greener environment within the school community.

The competition brought the future of the country together and underscored their role as conscientious observers and communicators of important social issues. The commitment towards cleanliness, as portrayed through their paintings, encouraged us to embrace the responsibility of preserving the environment for future generations.

CAREER COUNSELLING SEMINAR

‘Career counseling is about helping individuals discover their own path, not just following the crowd.’ Career counselling is a  personalized process that considers the unique needs  of each individual, helping them in achieving  their career aspirations.

With the aim to keep the  students well informed and to help them in taking appropriate decisions regarding their careers ,APS Mathura organized a Career Counselling Seminar for the parents and students of XI & XII at Tarapore Hall on 6th October 2023. Mukesh Mirchandani from IMS Learning Resource Pvt Ltd, was the resource person.

After a formal welcome by the Counsellor Ms. Astha Singh, the resource person commenced the seminar. The seminar primarily centered on non-traditional career options such as IPM and BBA, delving into integrated management programs as well. Additionally, the seminar covered emerging and contemporary career choices, including Liberal Studies, CSO, NSSO. Furthermore, the discussion shed light on various courses offered by universities across the country. Detailed insights into the structure of question papers for different competitive exams were also provided. Encouraging the students to make informed decisions, the resource person emphasized the importance of starting their preparations promptly for upcoming competitive exams, without delay.

The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms. Astha Singh. The Seminar was attended by Mrs. Mandeep Randhawa, Head  of the Education Committee, Ms. Bandana  Sharma, Head of Council Committee, the parents and students of classes XI & XII. The Career Counselling Seminar organized by APS Mathura has provided the students with valuable insights into a wide array of career options, ranging from the unconventional to the latest trends in education. The Seminar ended with ‘a career counseling session  doesn’t tell you what to do rather it will  help you to find the best path.’

CLUSTER-B  HOCKEY TOURNAMENT

On the 4th of October in the year 2023,APS Mathura hosted  Cluster B Hockey Tournament. This thrilling event brought together two formidable teams, APS Mathura and Kanpur, who arrived at the tournament ground with great enthusiasm, donning their distinctive team uniforms.

The atmosphere was charged with energy as the teams commenced the tournament with a display of extraordinary skills. Strong passes and confident strikes were the order of the day, and it didn’t take long for these well-prepared teams to make an impact. Their teamwork and commitment to the game were evident as they collectively managed to score the first goal of the match.

As the game progressed, it became clear that both APS Mathura and Kanpur were giving their all. The attackers were relentless in their pursuit of goals, and the defence worked tirelessly to thwart their opponent’s advances. The determination of the players was unwavering, and their collective effort was a sight to behold.

The climax of the tournament resulted in a final score of 1-0, which held true for both the girls’ and boys’ categories, emphasizing the well-balanced competition. Ultimately, it was Team Mathura that emerged victorious in both categories, showcasing their remarkable skills. Their achievement at the Cluster B Hockey Tournament was proof of their hard work and dedication, and they left the tournament ground with well-deserved pride and celebration.

BEST OUT OF WASTE COMPETITION

As a part of the school’s commitment to promote environmental consciousness and creative thinking among its students, APS Mathura organized a Best Out of Waste Competition on October 4, 2023, exclusively for students in classes 1 to 5. The primary aim was to teach students how to repurpose discarded items into innovative and useful creations, with a notable restriction on the use of plastic materials.

The students demonstrated their creative prowess by crafting beautiful items from newspapers and various discarded materials, receiving appreciative acclaim from all attendees. The judging criteria were primarily based on creativity.

This event served as a poignant reminder that with a touch of ingenuity, even the most overlooked materials can be rejuvenated and find a new purpose, thus contributing to a more eco-friendly and imaginative world.

 INDIAN NAVY QUIZ

India’s Navy, a guardian of our maritime frontiers, sails with valor, securing the seas and our nation’s pride. The navy plays an important role in safeguarding our nation’s maritime interests, ensuring the security of its coastlines and territorial waters.

With the aim to educate students about various aspects of naval history, different operations, traditions and it’s role in national defence, NAWWA organized an Inter-School Indian Navy Quiz through an Online Platform. The First Round of the quiz was held on 3rd October2023. The students of APS Mathura, Arun Soni and Kunal of XII std, participated in the quiz. After successfully progressing through the initial rounds, they advanced to the Quarterfinals of the competition, demonstrating their dedication to learning and commitment to excellence.

As we eagerly await the results of the Quarterfinals, We extend our best wishes to  the participants and look forward to the final outcome of this remarkable quiz, which has not only been a test of knowledge but a journey of discovery and inspiration.
